FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • WHAT IS B.O.S. LOCK?
B.O.S. Lock (Biometric Optimized Safety Lock) is a device designed to enhance firearm safety, particularly in homes with children. It functions by securing the slide of a firearm, preventing it from being fired accidentally. This biometrically controlled slide lock attaches to your existing handgun and gives authorized users access in < 0.5 seconds, automatically chambering the first round for you. Unlike other methods of firearm safety, B.O.S. Lock does not require you to compromise speed, mobility, or ease of concealment, providing peace of mind while keeping your firearms secure in your home.
  • HOW DOES B.O.S. LOCK WORK?
Locking: When engaged, B.O.S. Lock's high tensile arm keeps the slide locked to the rear position, which accomplishes two things: Empty Chamber: The chamber remains open, ensuring no ammunition is present. This allows for easy visual confirmation. Disabled Firing Pin: The slide position prevents the firing pin from coming in contact with the ammunition, rendering the firearm inoperable while locked. Unlocking: B.O.S. Lock utilizes fingerprint recognition to grant access only to authorized users. It can store up to 50 fingerprints for multiple users. When the fingerprint is authorized, the arm releases the slide. Loading: Once unlocked, the slide automatically moves forward during the unlocking process, chambering a round if a loaded magazine is inserted.
